Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia is spearheading the development of more Tourist Rest Areas (TRAs) in the province of Cebu, as well as in two of its sister cities in the country. The TRA concept was conceived by Garcia’s daughter, Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, with the aim of providing convenient and comfortable resting places for tourists.
Aside from that, the Cebu provincial government has already committed to build a TRA for two of its sister cities: Albay and Zamboanga Sibugay.
Currently, Cebu boasts four TRAs, each strategically located in different parts of the province. The first TRA was established in Medellin, followed by another one in Carcar City. Just recently, the third TRA was inaugurated in Carmen, and the fourth was opened in Moalboal.
The TRAs serve as essential pit stops for travelers, offering a range of amenities and facilities to enhance their overall experience. These rest areas are designed to provide a comfortable and relaxing environment where visitors can take a break, recharge, and gather information about the local attractions.
