Filipino teachers want to work abroad for several reasons.

One reason is the shortage of special education teachers in the United States, which leads to better opportunities for Filipino special education teachers who migrate there.

Before, special education teachers are the most in demand teachers abroad especially in the US. Through the years, generalists and teachers with specialization are also making it on the list of teachers that are in demand abroad.

There have been a good number of teachers leaving both public and private institutions to experience an American dream.

Another reason is the belief in the Philippines that education is the “great equalizer,” and working as teachers in other countries allows them to provide for their material well-being and that of their families. Pay is much higher abroad than in the Philippines.

They seek for a much greener pasture to provide for their family and to uplift their living status.

Additionally, Filipino early childhood education teachers choose to work in Singapore for the favorable outcomes and valuable life encounters that develop their personal, professional, and economic facets of life.

Filipino teachers in foreign schools embrace the Vision, Mission, and Objectives (VMO) of the schools they teach in, which provides them with opportunities for personal and professional growth.

The work ethics of Filipino teachers has been an essential factor which foreign schools are very much attracted to hiring Filipino teachers.

Our teachers are excellent educators. They go an extra mile to deliver quality and engaging learning among their students.

Lastly, despite declining English proficiency, Filipino English teachers are still hired by language schools due to their cost-effectiveness, although they need to improve their grammar skills to remain competitive.

Filipino teachers are some of the fast learners in language learning and acquisition. Since English is our second language and Philippine education is heavily based on English as medium of instruction, as early as elementary learners are able to speak and understand the English language.
