Fatal Motorcycle Collision Claims Lives of Policeman and Civilian in Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY – A tragic road incident in Datu Saudi Ampatuan town in Maguindanao del Sur claimed the lives of a police officer and a civilian on Saturday.

The victims, Patrolman Jamil M. Sarico and Arsad K. Abdullah, were riding a motorcycle when they collided head-on, resulting in their immediate deaths.

Following Islamic traditions, the relatives promptly arranged for the burial of Sarico and Abdullah within 24 hours of their passing.

Colonel Roel S. Sermese, the director of the Maguindanao del Sur Provincial Police Office, informed reporters on Monday that investigators are currently working to establish responsibility for the incident.

Sarico, a resident of Parang town in Maguindanao del Norte, was a member of the 1402nd Mobile Force Battalion of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR).

Abdullah, who hailed from Barangay Kitango in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, was known for actively participating in illegal motorcycle drag racing along various highways in Maguindanao del Sur.
