Gun Attack Leaves Two Villagers Seriously Wounded in Lanao
COTABATO CITY – A gun attack occurred on Thursday in Lala, Lanao del Sur, leaving two villagers with serious gunshot wounds.
Major Allan Oniana, the municipal police chief, identified the victims as Mila Lacasa Atentista and Marjo Bondaug Ramas.
They sustained injuries in different parts of their bodies. The responders rushed the victims to a hospital for treatment.
The incident took place along a stretch of a highway in Barangay Raw-an. The victims were in conversation when the attack happened.
Two unidentified men riding a motorcycle approached them and abruptly stopped nearby. The assailants drew pistols from their waists and opened fire on the victims.
The attackers swiftly fled towards the direction of nearby Baroy town, evading immediate capture.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive behind the attack.
Oniana revealed that relatives of Atentista and Ramas informed investigators that both victims had no known enemies.
The local government unit of Lala urged barangay officials in Raw-an to collaborate with the municipal police in swiftly resolving the case.
