Moro Children, Students, and Senior Citizens Benefit From Medical Mission

Over 100 people including poor students were blessed with free circumcision, medicines and cataract surgery for senior citizens in the medical mission organized by a group of foreigners in collaboration with Filipino doctors in Maguindanao del Norte.

Up to 63 young Moro boys from poor families in Barangay Matingen, Sultan Kudarat, of the said province were given free circumcision this Saturday as part of the outreach mission.

In a statement this Sunday by barangay leaders in Matingen and local government officials that apart from the free circumcision of 63 boys, many of the female students of Mahad Al Islah Al Arabie School were also treated for various illnesses.

For free in such a medical mission conducted by a group of Singaporean Muslims and their contact in Mindanao, the Surgimed Hospital and the office of Bangsamoro Member of Parliament Kadil Sinolinding, Jr.

Sinolinding, an ophthalmologist, has long been providing free treatment to poor Muslim, Christian and ethnic tribal patients with vision problems, cataracts, or pterygium.

Aside from the 63 Moro children they circumcised, the doctors who conducted the medical mission also treated 44 senior citizens with cataracts and 11 of them are scheduled for surgery at Sinolinding’s clinic.

Also assisting in this medical mission, Singaporeans supported through long distance coordinated engagement, the volunteers from Surgimed Hospital and the staff of Sinolinding’s office in the regional parliament of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in Cotabato City.
