Mt. View Elementary School in the Payao District of Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay, proudly announces the commencement of the National Learning Camp (NLC), a program initiated by the Department of Education (DepEd) under DepEd Order No. 014, s. 2023.

The camp runs from July 1, 2024, to July 19, 2024, exclusively for Grade 1 learners at our school. This program is designed to enhance the academic performance of Grade 1 students, providing them with targeted support and enrichment activities.

To ensure the successful implementation of the NLC, an orientation session was conducted by Mrs. Bernardita E. Espero, the class adviser, under the supervision of Mr. Jeremias G. Butlig, the school head.

The orientation was specifically organized for the parents of the Grade 1 learners participating in the program, with attendance limited to ten parents to maintain an intimate and focused session.

During the orientation, Mrs. Espero outlined the objectives and activities of the NLC, ensuring parents were well-informed about the program’s structure and goals.

Mrs. Espero utilized an assessment form and anecdotal record form to evaluate the specific needs of each learner. This thorough assessment process allowed for the identification of individual learning gaps and strengths, ensuring that the program is tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.

A comprehensive class program was meticulously prepared, detailing the schedule of classes and the various activities to be conducted throughout the NLC. This program includes a range of educational activities aimed at boosting the learners’ foundational skills in key subject areas, ensuring a well-rounded approach to their development.

The National Learning Camp at Mt. View Elementary School represents a significant effort to improve early childhood education within the community. By focusing on Grade 1 learners, the program aims to build a strong academic foundation that will support their future educational success. The dedication of the teaching staff, led by Mrs. Espero and supported by Mr. Butlig, highlights the school’s commitment to providing quality education and fostering an environment where every child can thrive.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to actively participate and support their children throughout the duration of the camp. Their involvement is crucial in reinforcing the learning and developmental gains achieved during the program.

As the National Learning Camp progresses, Mt. View Elementary School will continue to monitor and assess the impact of the program, ensuring continuous improvement and adaptation to meet the learners’ evolving needs. The school remains committed to its mission of nurturing young minds and laying the groundwork for lifelong learning.
